Natalia Botanicals by Natalie (Feldsine) O’Malley
Natalie O’Malley grew up in Pine Plains and maintained a strong connection to the Hudson Valley even while attending the University of New Hampshire where she obtained a degree in marine, estuarine, and freshwater biology, followed by a graduate degree in plant biology. From there, Natalie cultivated her botany skills at the New York Botanical Garden in the William & Lynda Steere Herbarium, and with the Conservation Science team at the Mohonk Preserve. Throughout her work, Natalie also honed her knowledge of native, medicinal, and edible plants, with an emphasis on herbalism and creating botanical blends for the body and home.
After spending time in the academic and non-profit world, Natalie has created Natalia Botanicals, a multi-faceted endeavor where she develops self-care products that center on plant-based ingredients, and also creates sustainability-minded and ecologically-focused garden spaces. Using her botany knowledge and naturalist experience, Natalie seeks to help cultivate native pollinator habitat as well as functional gardens that incorporate aesthetic, culinary, and medicinal uses.
